Teaching

Susan has been an educator and administrator for the past 40 years.

She began her teaching career in Ontario, and after that moved on to spend 12 years in the Northwest Territories and Yukon as a teacher and school principal.

After moving south, she taught in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia for 10 years where she helped to set up Rick Hansen Secondary School with state of the art facilities for special needs students.

Susan then moved to Japan and was Director of Education for a chain of English Schools in the Tohoku region for more than a decade.

She spent a couple of years in Seoul, South Korea as Director of MapleBear English Immersion Preschools, a joint venture with CECN and Telus Korea.

She then spent 9 years in the UAE as Lead Faculty- Academic Programs with the Higher Colleges of Technology teaching Business and Liberal Studies.

She has taught young learners to post-graduate levels. Teacher training, learning theories, and practical classroom management, in face-to-face or online are her fields of expertise.

She pursued doctoral studies in Distance Education because she saw educational technology as a huge opportunity to help developing countries.
